Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 29 January 2019 – SEED Group, owned by The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum, today announced a partnership with METRON that will lead to more efficient energy consumption and sustainability in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). METRON is a French company that builds an artificial intelligence network to promote the use of distributed energy systems in industries, reduce energy consumption efficiently, and improve the environmental footprint. The agreement will also provide METRON with the wide range of public and private sector networks from SEED Group that will help position it as a regional leader in energy efficiency.
METRON has a unique platform from artificial intelligence based on ontology and data science. The combination of these two pillars helps to give real insights into the factory on a daily basis by having all the information from machines brought to its platform to provide insights to the customers, operators, and energy managers that help them make decisions. The company focuses primarily on those industries that use energy as raw material, such as iron and steel, food and beverage, mining and cement companies.
Vincent Sciandra, CEO and Co-founder of METRON, said “The UAE has always been a laboratory for innovation. SEED Group’s knowledge of the market and our technology can be a game-changer in the region. More than that, we are committed to being sustainable, which we believe this region is looking to maximize. We have chosen SEED Group because of their knowledge of the market and their ability to deploy their sales force to help us reach new contracts in the region and to be recognized as a leader in this kind of technology in the coming years.”
In 2017, the UAE launched ‘Energy Strategy 2050’, which is considered the country’s first unified energy strategy based on supply and demand and also aims to increase the consumption efficiency of individuals and businesses by 40%. By deploying this METRON technology in Dubai, thousands of organizations are expected to be transformed and results will be seen dramatically. This serves as a major step forward for METRON as it puts the concept of energy innovation off the page and turns it into a fundamental action, making the smart city of Dubai a more prosperous nation.
“METRON not only justify a good first impression on us. We knew from the first meeting we wanted to partner with them,” said Hisham Al Gurg, CEO of SEED Group and The Private Office of Sheikh Saeed bin Ahmed Al Maktoum. “The deep knowledge of energy management that they possess and their expertise in execution will serve Dubai well both today and in the future. Coupled with their vision of being competitive in a country that is actively pursuing sustainable development initiatives, METRON is truly ready to lead the way.”
METRON has a proven track record having developed and supported hundreds of industrial sites across the world since its foundation in 2013. To date, METRON has six subsidiaries other than the UAE; it has offices operating in France, Italy, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, and Singapore. The company has recently been awarded the 2020 Global Cleantech 100, which is the 11th edition of the prestigious annual guide to leading companies and trends in sustainable innovation and has signed a master agreement with the Danone Food & Beverage group company to deploy its platform technology in their factories worldwide.
