METRON Takes Part in Transition Forum 2024

On 12th November, METRON took part in the Transition Forum’s annual event, founded by Lionel le Maux. The event is committed to the ecological transition, and brings together major players in the field, to encourage action, and the scaling-up of virtuous models. The event took place at the impressive Pavillon Dauphine in Paris.

To open the event, Roland Lescure (Vice-President - French National Assembly, Former Minister Delegate for Industry and Energy) introduced the first theme: Production and Consumption, Reconciling Industrial Development and Decarbonization. Leaders in the sector came together to discuss how to take to go forward with positive impact and make opportunities out of challenges, in a difficult context of volatile energy prices, political uncertainties, and the need to transform. The overriding consensus was the need to unite, to lead by example, and the importance of reducing GHG emissions in industry.

As part of this exchange, the METRON solution was presented by Vincent Sciandra (Founder and CEO of METRON), who shared the stage with other established innovators making a difference in the energy transition: Anne-Sophie Alsif (Chief Economist at BDP France), Sylvie Benard (Founding President of La Dame à la Licorne), Michel Mangion (CSR Director at Cristal Union), Arnaud Marquis (Sustainable Development Director at TARKETT), and Michèle Pappalardo (ISR Label President).

METRON was also in conversation with Aurélie de Ratuld (CSR Director of Symrise Pet Food), a global leader in the sector, who spoke about how the global leading company was able to get on track to meet their 2045 Net Zero Objectives, with the support of METRON.

Thanks to the support of METRON and the Decarb Fast Track programme, Symrise has already seen tangible results. For example, with the implementation of a metering plan across the entire plant and at the level of the various units and processes, Symrise teams can consult all relevant energy data in real time, as well as the associated performance indicators. Thanks to task automation, Symrise teams have been able to save time on data collection so they can focus more on analysis and action. It is now easier to make links between performance and causes, enabling more efficiency. Communication with field teams has also been facilitated thanks to qualified and objective data shared by all.

Symrise Pet Food is a Decarb Fast Track pioneer, an ambitious European programme powered by METRON, Dalkia, BNP Paribas, and Amazon Web Services (AWS), created to decarbonize the industrial sector thanks to energy efficiency savings. One of the goals of Decarb Fast Track is to bring together a community of pioneers to achieve these goals together, and share best practices for all to succeed.
